Kaldi’s Coffee Plc, a leader in Ethiopia's coffee industry, is seeking a passionate and experienced Hygiene Specialist to join our team. Position Overview
As a Hygiene Specialist, you will oversee the development, coordination, and management of hygiene and sanitation programs. You will play a critical role in maintaining quality standards, implementing behavior change strategies, and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations in a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Development and Management
- Develop, plan, and oversee hygiene and sanitation programs to meet organizational standards.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of hygiene interventions and make necessary improvements.
- Design and implement hygiene and sanitation operating guidelines across all branches.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance hygiene practices.
Health and Safety Standards
- Protect the health, safety, and welfare of customers, employees, and visitors.
- Regularly review employees' health check-up cards to ensure compliance with health standards.
- Ensure all workplaces are equipped with up-to-date firefighting equipment and first aid kits.
- Develop precautionary measures during seasonal outbreaks of infectious diseases.
Quality Assurance
- Monitor and ensure the cleanliness of equipment, work areas, and personnel.
- Identify cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization requirements and implement appropriate methodologies.
- Design and enforce systems to maintain product cleanliness and quality.
- Analyze hygiene data, interpret results, and implement corrective actions to resolve issues.
Training and Development
- Provide professional training on hygiene and sanitation to employees.
- Ensure the effective implementation of hygiene practices through regular monitoring.
Branch Support
- Conduct scheduled visits to branches to evaluate hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Report findings to relevant departments and follow up on improvements.
- Design hygiene and sanitation plans for new branches and ensure their proper implementation.
Regulatory Compliance
- Address deficiencies identified by the Food, Drug, and Health Care Administration and Control Authority.
- Ensure the proper disposal of waste materials, including expired products and raw materials.
Additional Responsibilities
- Execute any additional tasks assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates must possess the following:
Educational Background:
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or Environmental Health is required.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in public health, environmental health, or a related field.
Skills and Competencies:
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and hygiene management practices.
