Position Title: Senior Accountant

Workplace: Addis Ababa

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized, productive, and punctual Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will manage financial operations, ensure compliance with regulations, and contribute to the company's overall financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and oversee the company's financial records, including journals, ledgers, and balance sheets.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and timely submission of tax declarations.
• Handle bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
• Liaise with external auditors and facilitate audit processes.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Supervise and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
• Identify areas for financial improvement and recommend solutions.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations.
• Mandatory: Knowledge and experience in Peachtree Accounting Software and revenue office tasks.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
